Reforestation operation : 915 seedlings planted
From May 23 to 27, 2025, the CUF planning unit carried out a reforestation operation on cutting areas 5-4 and 5-5 of Forest Management Unit (FMU) 09020. A total of 915 young seedlings from seven native tree species – Tali, Ilomba, Okan, Fraké, Moabi, Azobé, and Onzabili – were planted. All seedlings came from the Ebolowa nursery, which has a capacity of up to 14,000 plants.
Fourteen individuals participated in the operation, including local volunteers selected by the peasant forestry committee. Reforestation efforts were primarily focused on former log yards, resulting in the restoration of 54 yards by the end of May.
Carried out in line with the forest management plan, this initiative is part of post-harvest restoration efforts and contributes actively to the sustainable regeneration of forest ecosystems. It reflects CUF’s strong commitment to preserving biodiversity and natural resources for future generations.
