Bark: reddish brown (2cm), scaly; hard, dark red, granular slice sometimes speckled with white, exuding a reddish sticky liquid.
Sapwood: well differentiated, yellow, not very thick.
Wood: heartwood yellow or orange-brown with reddish highlights that darken in the light. Sapwood distinct; coarse grain.
