Bark: grey (1cm), slightly cracked longitudinally, peeling off in thin scales in old trees, whitish fibrous slice when fresh with orange-yellow spots, then reddish-brown.
Sapwood: little differentiated.
Wood: creamy white to pale yellow-brown with white veins. Wide grain.
