Bark: brown, often marked with light lichens, fairly smooth, scaly in old specimens; garnet red edge towards the outside, thin pinkish layer towards the inside, very fragrant, not very abundant yellow gum.
Sapwood: white, well differentiated.
Wood: brown with darker veins.
