COMIFAC visit to Ebolowa

The Ebolowa sawmill welcomed a delegation from the Central African Forestry Commission (COMIFAC), led by Raymond Mbitikon, Executive Secretary of the organization, on February 5, 2015.

This courtesy visit allowed COMIFAC, which is responsible for the harmonization and monitoring of forestry policies in the countries of the Congo Basin, to see firsthand the realities of wood processing in the region of south Cameroon. Under the explanations of Emmanuel Mpouma, Director of General Affairs of the Cameroon United Forests and Said Njikoufon, Deputy Director of the sawmill of Ebolowa, the delegation visited the sawmill, from the log park to the sharpening room, through production lines and dryers. The Executive Secretary encouraged CUF to continue its efforts for the development of the industrial and socio-economic sector in this region of Cameroon.
