Description of the wood:

Bark: light gray, sometimes orange at the base of large trees, cracked lengthwise, rising in elongated lamellae in old trees, with a bitter taste. Reddish-yellow fibrous slice.
Sapwood: generally distinct, pinkish white (3-5 cm).
Wood: bright yellow darkening in the light to orange.
Log diameter: 60 to 90 cm.

Stiff, not very shock resistant

Uses:

Veneer for furniture and decoration, hydraulic works, sleepers, wagon and truck bottoms, heavy construction, parquet. Bark for medicinal uses. Edible fruit
