Minister of Health congratulates CUF

Minister of Health congratulates CUF for its commitment against AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.

As part of the intensified response to AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in companies, Cameroon United Forests participated in a workshop to discuss how to strengthen corporate actions against these three pandemics. The workshop, initiated on November 8, 2016 at the request of the Minister of Public Health, Mr. André Mama Fouda, brought together the leaders of a hundred companies as well as civil society actors.

The Minister of Health officially congratulated Cameroon United Forests for its work in promoting the prevention and treatment of AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis among its employees.  “It is a good thing that we are here today and we should applaud what has been accomplished and celebrated on this day in your companies,” he said. Emmanuel Mpouma, CUF Director of General Affairs, received a diploma from the Governor of the Littoral Region in recognition of the company commitment to “the elimination of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in the workplace”.  Thanks to the support of the Groupement de la Filière Bois au Cameroun (GFBC), the CUF has been setting up a programme for several years to fight against HIV/AIDS, which it intends to extend to the fight against tuberculosis and malaria.  The exchange workshop was also an opportunity to officially launch the first edition of the «Cameroonian Month against AIDS».
