Sustainable logging operations
CUF holds 6 Forest Management Units (FMU) in ownership. In addition, there are 5 other FMUs resulting from a partnership with the partner companies IBC, CAMTRANS, and FANGA, as well as a communal forest from the village of Minton.
Each forest was subject to a prior impact study and prospective inventories that led to the design of a 30-year management plan in which the logging strategy regarding the identified species, their environment, and operation constraints is defined. The management plan divides the forest into 30 logging units and provides for the annual operation of only one logging unit, thus ensuring a natural regeneration of resources. These plans, validated by the Ministry of Forests, are complemented by five-year plans that adjust activities on blocks of 5 logging units. Finally, before any operation, a comprehensive inventory of the species is carried out and submitted to the authorities for obtaining an Annual Operations Plan (PAO). The PAO specifies the number of trees authorized to be logged per species, based on the densities and diameters recognized.
On 512,000 hectares, CUF operates approximately 20,000 hectares each year. On one hectare, only 1 or 2 trees are ultimately logged, illustrating a sustainable operation of the resource.

A Network of Technical Workshops
To ensure optimal efficiency, CUF has established a network of strategically located technical workshops. The two main ones are located in Douala and Ebolowa, complemented by a secondary workshop in Djoum, allowing for quick and effective maintenance of all equipment.

A Rigorous Logistics Monitoring
The Technical Management supervises logistics and ensures rigorous monitoring of trucks at the various forestry sites as well as at the Ebolowa Sawmill. This organization guarantees not only the constant availability of vehicles but also proactive management of interventions and minimization of operational interruptions.

A Mix of Performance-Mastery
Thanks to this structure, CUF combines logistical performance and technical mastery, consolidating its role as a leader in the forestry sector in Cameroon.

Wood processing
Since 2010, CUF has developed its activity by tackling wood processing. It currently has 4 modern sawing lines in Ebolowa with an average production capacity of 55,000 m³ per year of sawn timber (fix and standard sawing), blocks, squared blocks…
Part of the wood is also dried thanks to the presence of 9 drying cells (6 in Ebolowa and 3 in Mbalmayo) for a total capacity of 880 m³ per drying cycle.
The sawmill has its own logistics service that ensures storage, loading, and transport to the Autonomous Port of Douala. This arrangement contributes to accelerate the export and delivery procedures of orders from clients.
Trading
CUF exports logs and sawn timber to more than 30 countries across 5 continents. Thanks to its expertise in managing customs formalities and logistical constraints, the company ensures rapid and reliable shipments, meeting the requirements of its clients.
Client satisfaction is at the heart of our commitments. It is reflected in the loyalty and longevity of the relationships we maintain with our partners around the world.
