March 8, 2016: the CUF woman at her best
On the occasion of the 31st edition of International Women’s Day in Cameroon, Cameroon United Forests organized a reception at the Sky Hotel in Bonapriso to honor its 25 female employees.
Forestry woman in safety boots and construction helmet, sporty woman in jogging dribbling like Samuel Eto’o, sexy woman in sequined dress, ponytail hairstyle and high heels or maternal woman, there was all for everyone! On the occasion of the 31st edition of the International Women’s Day celebrated in Cameroon, the dynamic women of the CUF have chosen to reveal themselves from every angle. On the red carpet of the banquet hall of the Sky Hotel of Bonapriso, parades, dances, songs and sketches took place in a friendly and joyful atmosphere, under the delighted eyes of the General Manager, his wife and guests.
The evening was also an opportunity to elect the new Miss CUF 2016: the jury appointed Miss Gisele Kouteki Basseg. The torch was passed by Miss CUF 2015, Ms. Thérèse Mimfoumou, who solemnly handed over her crown and Miss scarf to the new elect. Not without giving a final speech, showing that the CUF, despite its small number of female employees, is in a good position for gender equality, according to the theme of March 8 of this year “Planet 50-50: Let’s Move on for Gender Equality”. Long before the international community call, CUF has become one of the first companies that contribute to the advancement and well-being of women who in turn do it very well. This is factual. The majority of key positions within CUF are filled by dynamic women who are dedicated to their work and at the same time play their role as housewives,” she said before concluding: “We say thank you to the men with whom we work, for their support in the exercise of our various functions, especially to our General Manager, for this indelible mark of trust that he gives us, for his sense of listening and his encouragement.” A speech that then allowed the new miss CUF to perform brilliantly her first task: the presentation to the General Manager of the «Award of the most feminist employer», in view of the actions taken for the professional integration of women.
No one doubts that at CUF, having ambition, succeeding professionally, evolving, and being proud of the progress made is not just a matter for men.
